RESIDENTIAL HOME INSPECTION

This is a visual inspection where all the house systems from the roof to the foundation are examined and/or tested to verify proper installation, operation and safety.

What’s inspected?

The roof, exterior, structure, plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, interior, and insulation of the house. We follow the CSA A770 Standards of Practice; you know you are receiving a full and complete understanding of your new home.

No one likes unwanted surprises – we examine and test all the systems to ensure that you know everything you need to know so that you can finalize your purchase with confidence.

During the inspection, you’ll receive a guided tour of your new home, with commentary on our findings and limitations. You can ask as many questions as you like; it’s your opportunity to learn about all the features of the home and how to keep them looking and working well for years to come.

THERMAL IMAGING

Air Leakage At Top Plate

Leakage Around Door

Thermal Imaging allows you to see and measure the thermal energy emitted from any object. This is another tool to identify problems that are not visible to the naked eye. The inspection of mechanical, electrical, structural and HVAC components can be performed without requiring contact or destruction of the component being tested.

We specialize in residential and commercial thermal imaging. Whether a thermography report is required to complete a home inspection, or a suspected fault needs to be identified, we can offer services to assist you.

• Thermal imaging can help identify and document;
• Electrical faults before they cause a fire
• Overloaded and undersized circuits
• Circuit breakers in need of immediate replacement
• Missing, damaged and/or wet insulation
• Heat loss and air infiltration in walls, ceilings, floors, windows and doors
• Water and moisture intrusion that could lead to mold
• Possible pest infestation
• Hidden roof leaks, before they cause serious damage
• Air conditioner compressor leaks
• Structural defects
• Broken window seals
• Energy loss and efficiency
• Dangerous flue leaks
• Damaged and/or missing radiant heating systems
• Unknown plumbing leaks
• Overheated equipment
